An agenda for democratic renewal that includes proportional representation, campaign finance reform and A Code of Campaign Ethics

3. Establish An Equitable Revenue Structure

Fix the Revenue problem – Corporations and the 1% need to contribute their fair share and no one should have to work for less than a living wage.

4. Re-invigorate Canada’s International Leadership

For a safe, secure world repeal Bill C51, and re-invigorate international development aid, diplomacy and peacekeeping.

5. Stand Up For Our Natural Landscapes

Reverse Conservative gutting of the Navigable Waters Act, Fisheries Act and Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and deliver on our Climate change obligations.

6. Develop Better Cities

For sustainable cities re-establish an Affordable Housing Strategy linked to a National Transit Strategy.

 


Sleepwalking into Crisis

Has Canada Lost it Way?

It is hard not to be confused, overwhelmed, and depressed about the current state of the world. We hover on the brink of economic meltdown, social upheaval and war, and climate calamity. To some these appear to be discrete events in a chaotic world. It would be wiser to view them through the lens of a key principle of sustainability – ‘everything is connected’.
